Glucose is very important for our health because it is the main energy for the brain and the cells that make up the muscles and tissues in our body. This disease has two main types, diabetes type 1 and diabetes type 2.

The characteristics of diabetes in types 1 and 2 are almost the same. Symptoms of type 1 and 2 diabetes are almost indistinguishable, so you need medical attention further. However, there are several things that may distinguish between type 1 and 2 diabetes symptoms.

Diabetes Type 1

Diabetes type 1 also known as diabetes mellitus and the symptoms often come suddenly. Diabetes type 1 is a chronic health condition that characterized by elevated levels of glucose in your blood or high blood sugar. Diabetes type 1 usually affects the patients under the age of 20 years and generally, the patients have a skinny body. Diabetes type 1 is caused by damage to the pancreas so that insulin production is reduced. They need to be supplemented with insulin for the rest of their lives as failure to do so will rapidly result in death. Type 1 is difficult to predict and prevent because it is a genetic disorder that is born from birth.

Diabetes Type 2

The symptoms of diabetes type 2 will develop gradually. It can be characterized by a slow healing of wounds or pain and numbness in the legs. Diabetes type 2 usually affects the patients above the age of 35 years and attacks people who are overweight or obesity. Diabetes type 2 is caused by insulin resistance. The insulin is adequate but does not work well in controlling blood sugar levels, so the patients take oral medications or swallowing drugs. Actually, diabetes type 2 is preventable because it usually affects people with unhealthy eating and rarely exercises.

Diabetes is long-term chronic diseases that cannot be cured. Once you have diabetes, you should live with the disease for the rest of your life. Therefore, it is important to avoid diabetes with some prevention. Here are some tips to avoid the symptoms of diabetes at a young age.
  • The consumption of healthy foods. Reduce the sugar intake, fatty foods, fast food, or fried foods every day.
  • Move the body more actively. Expand the outdoors activities than play gadgets in the room.
  • Weight management. Control the weight by dieting and exercising regularly to avoid obesity.
